Western Piedmont Symphony Internship

  • Worked as an intern gaining a significant understanding and familiarity with a professional symphony environment.
  • Helped with various projects like organizing and helping facilitate concerts, shadowing members of the staff, preparing publications, and attending and contributing to meetings with potential sponsors, the symphony board, committees, and community members.

Freelance Trumpet Experience

  • Regularly hired to perform solo, with the Davidson Brass Ensemble, or in other pro-arte ensembles for church services, weddings, concerts at other college institutions, and other community events in the Davidson and Charlotte-Mecklenburg region, as well as my home city of Asheville and the surrounding region in the mountains of Western North Carolina.

Teaching Experience

  • Taught virtual lessons to middle school aged trumpet students during the summer of 2020 amidst the covid-19 pandemic.
  • Tutored middle school brass students individually, in small groups, and in full ensemble through the Band Leadership course at Asheville High School.

Restaurant Work

  • French Broad Chocolate Lounge: Worked at one of Asheville’s flagship businesses and a Certified B corporation preparing desserts and espresso-based beverages, cleaning, and interacting with customers. (Summer 2019)
  • Smoky Park Supper Club: Began as a dishwasher and learned to work as a prep cook and eventually taking on a full cooking position during lunch shifts. (Summers of 2017 and 2018)
  • The Market Place: Worked as a back waiter and was responsible for prioritizing serving dishes, memorizing the names and sources of ingredients, cleaning and preparing tables, and interacting with customers at one of Asheville’s most successful restaurants during weekend dinner shifts. (Spring 2017)
